The Ministry of Tourism commenced duties on the Second Floor of the Asset Arcade Building, No. 51/2/1, York Street, Colombo 01 from 16th  December 2020.

After conducting all religious observances, lighting the traditional oil lamp and boiling milk at the new building premises, official duties were commenced under the patronage of Hon.Prasanna Ranatunga, Minister of Tourism and Hon. D.V.Chanaka, State Minister of Aviation and Export Zones Development with the participation of Heads of the Departments under the Ministry.

Mr. S. Hettiarachchi, Secretary to the Ministry of Tourism, Mr. Madhava Devasurendra, Secretary to the State Ministry of Aviation and Export Zonal Development, Mrs. Kimali Fernando, Chairperson of the Tourism Authority, Mrs. Dhammika Wijesinghe, Director General of the Tourism Authority, Mrs. Nadeeka, Director General of the Tourist Hotel School Director Madhubhani Perera and General Manager of the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau Krishantha Fernando and all officials of the Ministry were present.
