The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority together with other tourism institutions under the Ministry organized the Tourism Fest with the spirit of Christmas from 19th to 23rd December 2015 .

Focus on Chinese Tourists
National tour guides handling inbound Chinese tourists met the Minister of Tourism Development, Christian Religious Affairs and Lands, Hon. John Amaratunga at the Ministry today. The tour guides explained to the Minister various issues they were facing and made suggestions to improve the quality of services offered to tourists.
The Minister appreciated the contribution made by tour guides towards improving the tourism experience especially among the rapidly growing Chinese tourism segment. He emphasized that only licensed guides who have received a proper training from the Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management will be permitted to conduct tours in the future.
Director General of SLTDA, Malraj Kiriella and Course Director, National Tourist Guides Programme, Sujith Yamasinghe also participated in the meeting.
